Short bio

I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Milan. I received the Doctoral degree in Computer Science from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne - EPFL (CH) and the MSc in Computer Science from University of Pisa (I), summa cum laude. Prior to joining the University of Milan in 2003, I worked for several years in public and private organizations, including CSELT, Datamont Spa and Elda Ingegneria Group, all based in Italy, first as researcher, next as R&D Coordinator and Project Manager of European research projects, and finally as co-founder of a start-up company operating ìn the area of geospatial data management in road and traffic applications. I teach at the School of Science and at the School of Humanities. I am Action Editor for GeoInformatica, member of the editorial board for Transactions on Data Privacy, and Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing.
